Enables well intervention operations on the production tubing without well depressurization or killing the well;
Designed to seal tubing and drill pipes inside the casing during well interventions affecting the bottomhole area, the packer is used for:
- injecting fluids in to the formation to maintain reservoir pressure;
- isolating the production string from exposure to the wellbore environment during well operations;
- performing other workover, maintenance, or technological operations that require the application of differential pressure above or below the packer.
No need to kill the well due to high shut-in pressure (Pexc.);
Prevents prolonged workover crew downtime caused by extended well bleed-off periods (up to 6 months) and avoids fishing operations due to tubing failures from excessive reciprocation;
Eliminates the need to kill wells with heavy brines, preventing formation contamination.
Eliminates issues with retrieving injection packers and simplifies tubing replacement;
Applications: vertical wellbores, directional wellbores (low angle), wells with horizontal tailing-in for stimulation jobs.
